The Vertical Diamond

Each surface a different cut in the diamond reacts to the light and movement, reflecting Times Square's energy

Studio Topic | Mixed-Use Building
Location | Times Square, New York
Academic Year | Fourth Year

Rising in the heart of Times Square, The Vertical Diamond  sparkles amongst  the urban skyline with a formal concept inspired by the crystalline geometry of a diamond.

I'ts intricate façade, composed of a field of triangular glass panels, draws inspiration from the facets of stone, generating a continuous play of light and shadow throughout the day.

The building is designed to create a dialogue between the pulsating urban life of Times Square and the pedestrian experience: a public lobby opening onto the square, hotel floors directly oriented toward the iconic space, and offices with full transparency to the metropolitan panorama.

ENTRANCE FLOW

The design of the main entrance invites the dynamic movement of the city inward, guiding passersby from the vibrant streets into the core of the building.
Inside, a sequence of open levels allows visitors to traverse vertically while remaining visually connected to Times Square at every point.
